University Park mansion hits market at $20M

The most expensive Texas home to hit the market in June was in University Park in Dallas.

The 14,000-square-foot mansion at 6920 Vassar Avenue has a price tag of $20.5 million, the Dallas Morning News reported, citing the Houston Association of Realtors. That’s $1,464 per square foot.

Erin Mathews of Allie Beth Allman & Associates is the listing agent.

The home was also the largest to hit the market last month, and it was one of five Dallas-Fort Worth homes to crack the top 10 for priciest new listings. 

Built in 1959, the University Park home has six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a rose garden and a nine-hole putting green, the outlet said. It was designed by architecture firm Spitzmiller & Norris, which also designed the 4,200-acre Blackberry Farm resort near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.

The other expensive DFW listings include a nearly 8,000-square-foot mansion in nearby Highland Park that was priced at $11.3 million, and an 8,900-square-foot home in Colleyville that carries an asking price of $10.8 million. A mansion in Southlake also cracked the list with a $9.2 million price tag, and nipping at its heels is another Highland Park estate priced at $9 million.

Four of the top 10 priciest new listings were in Austin, with the most expensive one priced at $13 million. A home in Boerne, which is about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio, also made the list.
