The Dallas market has its fair share of high-priced luxury homes, but the $43 million Volk Estates on 6915 Baltimore Drive currently stands on top as the most expensive listing in the entire DFW metroplex.

The only currently listed property that comes close is the 15,000-square-foot Hillcrest Estate mansion in North Dallas, which was listed for $10.9 million back in May.

The newly built Volk Estates, listed with Diana Stewart of Allie Beth Allman and Associates, is tucked into an exclusive enclave overlooking a garden and pool area, and was designed by architect Richard Drummond Davis.

Stewart said Volk Estates’ location in downtown Dallas near Love Field Airport is one of the main reasons for its high price tag. She also cited the manion’s luxe finishes.

“The land, the location, and most of these custom items that have gone into it, I would say the finishes and techniques that have been used are the main reasons,” she said.

The 23,688-square-foot home sits on 1.84 acres and has six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and three half-baths, and three garages that accommodate electric vehicles with charging stations.

There’s a wine cellar, a theater, a yoga and exercise room, a sauna, a spa, a panic room, a guest apartment, four fireplaces, a sweeping double staircase at the entryway and multiple balconies and covered porches.

The estate also has 63 solar roof panels, a geothermal heating and cooling system, and a 15,000-gallon groundwater tank for eco-friendly and efficient energy usage.

Dallas luxury builder Stewart McIlyar collaborated with Davis and has been working on the project for the past four years. The mansion is now nearing completion ,with a tentative date around the end of October.

The Dallas-Fort Worth housing market is seeing a decline in higher-end buyer demand, but Stewart is confident the mansion’s amenities drive interest.

“Everything in this home was hand-selected from around the world, and then we had some of the top craftsmen putting it all together,” Stewart said.
